Colds and flus may be common, but their real cost on businesses and the overall economy is extraordinary. B&D Nutritional Ingredients has created an infographic designed to foster healthier practices in the workplace and raise awareness about the financial impacts of colds and flus.

The economic impact of colds and flus is at or above that of many chronic conditions, such as high blood pressure, congestive heart failure, asthma, osteoporosis and migraine. While the total economic impact of colds ($40 billion) adds up to $127 per person, per year, the cost of flus clocked in at just under $200 per worker in 2012-2013. Fortunately, these costs can be mitigated. The concept behind providing this information is to understand how colds and flus impact us economically and inspire a healthier lifestyle for all Americans.
